Tbird ran fine for 4 months on Win 10 without issue. Win 10 performed an update, to build 10586. A day later Nvidia driver updated to 361.43. Ever since, Tbird is unusable. Freezes as soon as it opens. Restarts don't help. Executing Tbird with compatibility (8/7/Vista/XP) doesn't help. Neither does Reduced Color Mode, 640x480 res, etc. Executing with integrated Intel GPU as opposed to Nvidia GTX, has no effect.

Thx!

I hear what you're asking. But unfortunately, I can't get that far before it locks up. I even tried reinstalling from the latest release. As soon as it opens up, I lose all control.

Still no workey...

Thanks for the suggestion. Safe Mode did not prevent it from freezing. I attempted it with/from both graphics cards. I guess I'll have to revert back to before the update. Thanks!

Soo... after letting is set, frozen, for an unknown amount of time, it's now thawed. I checked, and HW accel is NOT turned on.

MVX1, are you all sorted out?

Negative.

Short term solution, execute the program 15 minutes before I need to use it. Long term solution, fresh WIN7/64 on an SSD, ditch WIN10/64 on conventional HDD.

Shrug... It still freezes throughout the day, but it's better than Outlook (which also freezes frequently).

What anti virus are you using? If defender, does excluding the Thunderbird process help at all?
