What version of Flash Player do you have? as 22.214.171.124 and older is on blocklist so it is Click to Activate. https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/blocked/p1048
There has been a few Flash Player updates since with the current being 126.96.36.199 (plugin based) from https://www.adobe.com/products/flashplayer/distribution3.html
Note there is no Flash Player for iOS devices from Adobe and since you posted with Firefox on Mac OSX I changed product to Firefox.

I have 188.8.131.52. Dies clearing history affect Adobe Flash.
In case you use "Clear history when Firefox closes" or otherwise clear history.
- do not clear the Site Preferences
- Tools > Options > Privacy > Firefox will: "Use custom settings for history": [X] "Clear history when Firefox closes" > Settings
- Clearing "Site Preferences" clears all exceptions for cookies, images, pop-up windows, software installation, passwords, and other website specific data.
- Clearing Cookies will remove all selected cookies including cookies with an allow exception that you want to keep.
