Suddenly I cannot receive emails from one particular address on any of the three email accounts I have on Thunderbird.
These emails come from a no-reply address, and I get quite a few on a daily basis, so I am wondering if Thunderbird has some sort of virus protection that is preventing me from receiving them. They are not going into the junk folders or spam folders. I checked with IT on the website that sends these emails, and they said everything was okay on their end. It shows the emails going through. However, I could not receive even their test message sent from their no-reply account. BUT, when they sent it from a different account, it came through fine. So the problem seems to be with my receipt of messages from their no-reply address. This started happening on December 14.
I was thinking maybe it is something in my antivirus software, which is something called Symantec Endpoint Protection (supplied by my employer), so I also tried setting up all three email accounts on a different computer. This uses Thunderbird as my email software but has a different antivirus program (Avast Free), but I am having the same problem.
Lastly, I tried bypassing Thunderbird by accessing my three email accounts from the web. Still not receiving the no-reply emails. Would that mean that Firefox is also involved?
Obviously, *something* on both my computers thinks these "no-reply" emails are spam or even viruses. (Yet, I am receiving spam daily from lots of other sites, go figure!!!) The only thing both computers have in common is Thunderbird and Firefox. The computer I am typing on rums WindowsXP Home with service pack 3. The other computer runs Windows7 Home.
My last effort would be switching to M$ Outlook, and I really don't want to do that! Can any of you offer any help? I am sorry that I am not a geek and cannot re-program anything, but I will try very hard to understand what you are telling me.
Thank you in advance.
Susan

It is between the sender and your inbox. That is about all you can say. Your provider should be able to monitor your account and see if the message is coming to their server.
Thunderbird is email client software. it runs on your computer and helps you manage your email. It cannot download messages that do not make it into your inbox on your providers server.

Thunderbird downloads messages that actually make it into the Inbox of your account on your email providers server. You state that you check your account at the providers webmail interface and the messages are not there. This is not a Thunderbird or Firefox issue. Ask your provider where you mail is going. Have you checked the Spam folder.
No, they are not going into spam or junk folders. They are not making it to the inbox.
So, if Thunderbird downloads emails only once they are received, then this has to be a problem on the sender's part. Right?
