What exactly does it mean? Does it mean the message has been received by the ISP or does it mean that it has been passed to the addressee's email client in his/her computer? or what? and Why doesn't Mozilla provide a brief explanation in its help?

According to the following article, the DSN (delivery status notification) is sent by the recipient's email server. It does not mean that the message was read, or even opened.

Excerpt from article Figuring out whether the recipient read your message
http://kb.mozillazine.org/Figuring_out_whether_the_recipient_read_your_message
"...Another type of receipt is the Delivery Status Notification (DSN) receipt ([2]). The only purpose of DSN receipts is to let a sender know when the recipient's server received the message..."
