You know that little icon that shows up next to inbox showing that there is a unread email in there[Looks like (1) or (2) etc]. For some reason that's not happening with the junk email folder for my hotmail account. I only see it if I jump to the said Junk Folder. Anyone know how I could possibly fix that?

Chosen solution

New unread mail will trigger the number and bold mail folder name. Perhaps you have a setting that says to mark junk as read.

'Tools' > 'Options' > 'Security' > 'Junk' tab or 'Menu icon' > 'Options' > 'Options' > 'Security' > 'Junk' tab

uncheck 'Mark messages determined to be Junk as read' click on OK

Thank you that fixed it!
