I would like two separate versions of FireFox on my PC, is FireFox Portable safe to use?

more options

I use Sandboxie to browse unknown or questionable sites. I had been running my desktop version of Firefox in a sandbox, (using Sandboxie) but since that has saved passwords and bookmarks, I would like a separate Firefox installation to be used ONLY when sandboxed.

I don't think that installing a second version of 'normal' Firefox would work, since it would be using the 'same' directory as my non-sandboxed version.

I have used Firefox Portable many years ago, and think this might work as a second version. However, on the PortableApps.com site, I see that they want you to download it from SourceForge. Though I had used SourceForge for many years, recent controversies over SF adding adware or other unwanted apps to files downloaded from the site make me leery of using them. Is the SourceForge versions of Firefox Portable (as linked to from PortableApps) safe to install?

Otherwise, how hard is it to install a second version of 'normal' Firefox, one that would NOT share any appdata with the other version. (I did this back in Firefox version 2, 3 and 4 days, but haven't tried it in years)

Thanks in advance! (Windows 7 Home 64bit)
