Deleted messages are not being stored

I am using gmail on IMAP. I have set deleted messages to be stored in a 'Deleted' folder in my gmail. However, when I delete messages they are disappearing and not turning up in my gmail Deleted folder or in the Deleted foilder automatically setup by Thunderbird for the account.

Can I get the gmail Bin folder in Thunderbird? this is where my phone puts deleted messages too so it would make sense to have them all in the same place.

In Thunderbird, right click on gmail account and subscribe to gmail/trash

Great, thanks, if I then change the location for deleted messages to Bin this now works.
