Hover menus don't work on the Steam store website.
I’m back using Firefox ESR (38.3.0) on my Mac and I’ve come across a problem. When I visit store.steampowered.com and I hover over the second menu (the store menu: featured games, games, software, hardware, etc.), the submenus would appear but as soon as I move the pointer to click on any of the choices, the submenus disappear.
I tried to fix it by force reloading and by clearing the cache and removing the cookies. Then I tried to isolate the issue by restarting Firefox in safe mode, even under a new profile, the issue would still occur. I also tried to replicate, to no avail, the issue on other sites with hover menus like the one at: http://line25.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/css-menu/demo/index.html
It seems to be limited to Steam’s website for now, maybe other sites but I didn’t come across them yet. Furthermore this doesn’t happen on either Safari nor Chrome.
I'm attaching a gif showing the problem. Any ideas?

I checked your links. I had no problem.
Use this link to check that your plugins are up-to-date. If any are listed as unknown or research, do not worry about them.
Thanks for your help however after updating the plugins and restarting, it still happens.
The menus do not work well for me on Linux. They do open when I hover them with the mouse, but close if I move the mouse pointer down to select an item. Sometimes a menu stays open if I move the mouse left or right to another menu item.
The menus are controlled via JavaScript that modifies the style attribute, so I assume that something is wrong with this script and the menu doesn't stay open if you move the mouse from the menu bar.
That's what I'm assuming as well however Safari and Chrome seem more forgiving towards the presumed sloppy code on the Mac. FredMcD didn't encounter the problem either.
Anyway the workaround I found was to use the keyboard (Tab and Enter) to jump between the links while the submenu is open and thus they can be selected and "clicked".
You might also be able to use the arrow keys after the menu is open. Note: I am using Win 7 Firefox 40.
No the arrow keys don't work. The submenu seems to register the input for less than a second but it then disappears and the actual page moves up.
I just tried the website on my Windows 7 starter netbook and a clean (no add-ons nor sync enabled) Firefox v 40.0.3 and then v 41 (after updating it) and it's exhibiting the same problem.
