I'm using thunderbird version 38.2.0 with under Win-7. I'm using 3 different mail accounts, but this error only exist only in one POP account. When hitting the delete button nothing happenes, the mail remains in the inbox. In case I move the mail to another trash-bin I can remove the mail.

Is there a trick to repair this by re-creating the trash bin for this POP-mail account?

Chosen solution

Is there any important mail in that Trash folder? If you can open the folder, try to salvage any mail by moving it to another folder (preferably empty)

Lets delete and recreate your damaged 'Trash' bin The procedure is given in this article

If there are messages in the problem folder, can you 'copy to...' or 'move to...' a different folder? Does it look like any messages are missing?

Try to repair this folder. right-click the 'problem' folder - 'Properties - General Information - Repair Folder' Close and re-open Thunderbird. Check folder for correct operation.

Gild, Thanks for the reaction, it didn't do the trick. Deleting a msg still does not work as it did in the past.

Gild,

This is what the docter ordered... I recreated the Trash-bin, and it is working as pretended. Thank you very much for your quick reply.
