Thunderbird just automatically updated yesterday and now I can't resize the send window. Its width is locked in place. Doesn't matter whether it's a new email or a reply. Originally, there was also some weirdness with text not wrapping properly, so I dragged a reply window to be wider, now it's locked in place.

Thoughts?

Found it! I have an extension called "Foxclocks" installed which tells what time it is in other timezones. I had several different timezones listed which are listed horizontally at the bottom of the send window. The length of these time zones being listed kept setting the min. width of the sending window. Removing some of the timezones fixed it.

have you restarted your computer?

Finally got around to restarting my computer.... Still can't make the sending email window smaller. I can make it bigger, but it seems like there's some kind of minimum width setting that's locked in place.

Doesn't anyone else have this?
