Trying to setup a @hiwaay.net acount on thunderbird, followed the video on the hiwaay.net mail website, still no joy. Just need to get this account recieving.
I am a tech guy at office depot in northport alabama. I am working on a computer for a customer who is hates the integrated email client windows has put on there. And it sucks, so no wonder. Anyway, I am setting up thunderbird for her, but I need to setup their existing email account with @hiwaay.net on thunderbird. I have followed this tutorial http://www.hiwaay.net/setup-faqs/ under the section for setting up thunderbird with it. I followed ever set of options that I found under that tutorial, and nothing works. I need answers fast, and I didnt know where else to turn.

Can you provide some info:
re :and nothing works. When you try to 'Get Messages' , what happens? What does it say in the bottom 'Status Bar', login, connectin, connected etc ? If you get an error message what does it say...word for word?

Help > Troubleshootiing Information
Do NOT check the 'Include account names' box.
Click on 'Copy text to clipboard' button.
In this question in the forum, right click in a 'Post a Reply' box and select 'Paste'.
It says the connection timed out. It says at the bottom when I click get messages, connecting. Then after a while it says connection timed out. Everything is entered correctly. It's not too much of a problem anymore, I had to get the computer back to the customer, they settled for just making hiwaay mail their default page that opens in chrome.
