Maybe you were using the 'Unified' view.

Try this: View > Folders > Unified or Menu icon > Folders > Unified

This fixed the problem, thanks. On my new Win 10 computer, the summary input is not displayed, just each email. Can I get this back?

What is summary input? Do you mean numbers of mails and size? See pic.

Thanks for your reply. No, this is not what I meant. I have two emails addresses, each separate. My old system had a summary of input, sent, trash, etc. above these two, so that I could see , e.g., all my input messages in one place.

This was very helpful and what I'm looking for.
