Hi, I cannot seem to access any HTTPS site due to have lost my security certificates on firefox. I had a redirect browser issue originally and defaulted my browser after reading about it on an earlier post. Now the issue is fixed, but I cannot access google at all on my browser. I've read just about every help post I can on the matter but none seem to help. My date and time settings are correct, the certificate that existed for some reason said it expired on the 15/03/2015, and now I deleted it which was probably a bad thing. There is no option at the bottom of the page saying "I understand the risks" either, there's just the option to "get me out of here". So I'm literally stuck!

Can anyone help me get a secure certificate back so i can browse the web again using firefox :( I would really appreciate any help!

FiddlerRoot (DO_NOT_TRUST_FiddlerRoot) usually indicates unwanted software being installed named similarly to BrowserSafeguard, BrowserSafe, SafeGuard

See /questions/982532#answer-520145

You can check in "Windows Control Panel > Programs" for recently installed programs to see if anything from Conduit or any other suspicious software like Search Protect shows up.

  • Control Panel > Programs > Programs and Features > Uninstall or change a program
  • Click the Installed column to sort by this heading

If you can't inspect the certificate via "I Understand the Risks" then try this:

Open this chrome URI by pasting or typing this URI in the location/address bar to open the "Add Security Exception" window and check the certificate:

  • chrome://pippki/content/exceptionDialog.xul

In the location field type/paste the URL of the website

  • retrieve the certificate via the "Get certificate" button
  • click the "View..." button to inspect the certificate in the Certificate Viewer

Check who is the issuer of the certificate.

You can inspect details like the issuer and the certificate chain in the Details tab of the Certificate Viewer.

Thanks for the hasty responses. You were right by the looks of things, some applications must have secretly installed themselves without my knowledge. Removed the apps and now I can access https sites. :) yay. Appreciate the help!
