when I open Thunderbird now it only shows one of my accounts, inbox only, and I can't access the other accounts or folders-- what do I do?

Try View|Layout→Folder Pane, using the traditional menu across the top

Or [≡]Options|Layout|Folder Pane using the new three-lines "Application Menu" button.
