do I need to uninstall Chrome before installing Firefox?
not sure how or if Chrome will interfere with Firefox. I've used Chrome for years, but want to switch to Firefox per my daughter's recommendation. Thanks.

You don't need to uninstall chrome if you have enough storage. It will not affect your browsing with Firefox. Even if you want, you can import your settings and bookmarks from Chrome as you have used it for a long period. You can see the Get started with Firefox - An overview of the main features article and Import data from another browser. Welcome to Firefox!
But having said that it will not affect your browsing with Firefox, Chrome silently installs a audio listeners and start it when you start your computer, so you can uninstall it if you care about your privacy.

Browsers sometimes fight over which will be your default, but otherwise, you should not notice any interference.
Also, if you want to import data from Chrome such as bookmarks, you should at least keep it installed until after you set up Firefox. See: Import bookmarks and other data from Google Chrome.
