Proceed to your settings in Firefox. (The bars on the top right, below the red 'X'.) Go to options, privacy, and under history there, closer to the bottom, click remove individual cookies, then select remove all. This should clear any bad data, or anything corrupt that could be causing you this issue.

Have you tried Refresh Firefox ? Same as Bathelp said ,go again to Menu and in bottom you will find a help button .

  1. First Do this by licking on Restart with Addon Disable. Check whether your firefox works normal or not.

else

Click on that and choose Troubleshoot Firefox ,here you can do Refresh Firefox or Reset it .

note: by resetting means all saved cookies passwords, history bookmarks will be deleted,so first do a backup of them. then perform the Reset Firefox function.

It is possible that your security software (firewall, anti-virus) blocks or restricts Firefox or the plugin-container process without informing you, possibly after detecting changes (update) to the Firefox program.

Remove all rules for Firefox and the plugin-container from the permissions list in the firewall and let your firewall ask again for permission to get full, unrestricted, access to install for Firefox and the plugin-container process and the updater process.

hi, thank you so much for your replies.....

the computer is showing that its connected to the wifi. wifi is working on other devices in the house. i've switched off all the security. i am off line when i try the restore. i have tried to restore on numerous occasions but the error message states 'it's possibly because the anti virus is on'.
