What is the FireFox Full Download Size ? (not update size) For what ever reason, no one seems to know & FireFox wont tell you. My Data usage is limited to 3G per month & don't want to use it all in one download. I have an old version of Firefox on another computer & its less that 8mb. I started downloading this newest version & killed the download after 50mb. Does anyone have an answer to this question & know why FireFox wont just tell people up front what the download size is?

Chosen solution

The download for Windows 7? Firefox 38.0.5 for U.S. English is about 40MB (see screen shot).

If you use the following page, you can get the full installer in one file (compared with using the Stub installer):

https://www.mozilla.org/firefox/all/ scroll down to your preferred language

Thanks for the reply. Guess I should have mentioned that I was running Windows 7 on a Desktop.

I tried the download again this time & it worked. Was right about 40mb this time & downloaded in about 2 minutes. (I have kinda slow internet) It does however, take up 90mb of HD space. I guess the downloaded file is a Zip file & when you do the actual install, it unzips it. Maybe the 1st time I attempted to download this, it was trying to down the total 90mb instead of a Zip File. Don't understand why its sooooo stinking big anyways. Whatever happened to the good ole days, when you could have a clean, fast, light weight browser with out all the added unnecessary crap? O well, I am up & running. Thank you for the reply

Note that a minor update is much smaller, so make sure not to miss any updates to avoid having to download the full version.

At 8mb that must be a rather old vulnerable version like Fx 3.6.28 or older.

Also note that if you do miss a partial update you could get a full update which can be bigger in size than the compressed full setup.

My old FireFox was 3.6.3 I guess the last time I tried to download Firefox, I must have been trying to update my old version & like you say, the update must be much larger that the "compressed full setup". Full download wasn't bad. About 40mb like Cor-el said. Still think FireFox is way to big in size, but I think that way about all browsers. I would like a clean, fast, light weight browser without all the extra Fluff & Unwanted, Unneeded Garbage. Thanks for the info
