How do I get the default BBC news page (http://news.bbc.co.uk) to function like it does in IE?
When I return to the home page I get the script below and need to go home again.

Well then you may as well just remove the homepage option as it has no possible use!

Sorry, maybe i've misunderstood, but I'm not sure what this has to do with Thunderbird ?
Why don't you just set http://news.bbc.co.uk as your home page and it will become obvious to you. Then you can try clicking tabs and stuff and see the problem for yourself!

Then you're probably the only one doing that with an email client.

I've opened http://news.bbc.co.uk in a new Thunderbird tab (using the Thunderbrowse add-on here). It looks normal to me.
I have no intention to 'try clicking tabs and stuff'. If you do have a problem with that page, then do explain it properly here. You may also post a screenshot.
Thunderbrowse, thank you a perfect solution to the issue.
