Address book "search/fliter" window stop working

Address book "search/fliter" window worked fine until I tried it today, v 31.6.0. (win 7) Just updated to 31.7.0 and still no search results. Typing in characters do not bring up any potential matches (name/email option selected). However, CTRL+Shift+F works fine in address book search. How do i get search/filter window to work as it did? Thanks.
