My emial was working fine yesterday morning and now my old messages in my inbox and trash are unreadable. The show font size, margins, line spacing and some show tons of letters/numbers. They messages make no sense. I was told to unistall thunderbird and reinstall, but wont I lose my contacts and all my messages/pictures. It also says that to protect my privacy thunderbird has blocked remote content. This is appearing in messages I've received for a long time - trusted places. Any thoughts

Before you go to all that trouble take a look at how you show emails: View /Message body as/ original HTML

Tools/options/privacy and allow remote content in messages

You can also give a list of senders that would be allowed /or denied to show remote.
