This is a Thunderbird forum, so do you mean Thunderbird email client or Firefox browser?
For auto replies to work in Thunderbird, the computer must be running and Thunderbird running. If you were thinking of an auto reply because you are away from the computer for a long period, then I would advise you set this up via the webmail account because then you do not need to leave computer and thunderbird open and running. This is a more secure option. see info:
However, if you really want Thunderbird to do this, you can create an auto response in Thunderbird. Click on Write. Create and save a Template email in Templates folder. Give the subject a suitable title. This will be the response you want to send.
create a filter which runs after Junk filter classification Tools > Message filters Click on New give filter suitable name Select: Apply filter when 'Getting new mail' Select: 'filter after junk classification' - this stops responses to known junk mail. select: 'match all of the following' Conditions: 'FROM' and 'is in my address book' select address book name This makes sure only known people get a response. If you need to add more address books,: click on the small + repeat the condition choosing a different address book. then change this: select: 'match any of the following'
Perform these actions: 'Reply with Template' and select the name of template from drop down - it uses the 'Subject' line to identify the different templates. click on OK
Make sure Filter is enabled and suggest you move it to the top of list so that it runs first.
你好!toad-HALL 很感谢你的自动回复邮件的方法。 可是我按照你的方法操作后,他们收到我的自动回复邮件内容是乱码。 请问这是什么原因。
Modified
But I according to your method, they receive my auto reply message is garbled. How to do ?
From the images, I cannot see if you set a Subject line in the stored Template email. You would need a Subject line in order to select the correct email template.
Chinese characters displaying as ??? This sounds like an encoding issue. Select email then try this: 'View' > 'Character Encoding' > 'Chinese-Tradition'
What have you got selected here?
'Tools' > 'Options' > 'Display' > 'Formatting' tab
Click on 'Advanced' button to see the 'Fonts and Encodings' window.
What are you using for Character Encodings?
See image below as an aid. Obviously I'm probably using a different set of encodings toyou, but I have set 'Font control' to 'Allow messages to use other fonts'.
hi Toad-hall Figure is my character code. You can remote control my computer to help me? Or tell me how to find the way to solve the problem can help? After all, every time I have such a question and answer, it is difficult to express, and spent long hours. I collected a lot of problems on the use of Thunderbird mailbox, I hope someone can help me. At the same time I am also very optimistic about the software of Thunderbird, hope the function and operation of it can be more perfect, more users use happy.
