the function get new emails doesn't work. The only way for me to get to the inbox is to move cursor across the top line through all mail to return to Inbox

It is hard for me to return to the "inbox" tab. Right now I have to scroll leftward through all the tabs until I reach inbox to access all my emails.

The general "get new messages" doesn't produce any response or result when I click on it. Neither does clicking on my specific email name for messages work.

I suggest you start closing message tabs after reading them. For now right click a tab and select close other tabs.
