Is there a way to Insert registered trademark (r), or other special characters into email text?

I can't seem to be able to find this in Thunderbird and can cut and paste from other applications into here, but that is getting old.

Please advise on how to do this please.

Thank you!

You can generate various symbols by holding the alt key and pressing different number sequences.

alt + 0174 = ® alt+0153 = ™ alt+0169 = ©

You do have to use the numpad for entering the numbers. Either a separate numpad or the one embedded in a laptop keyboard. The numbers above the keyboard will not work.

Here is an article that explains how this works and it has the options for a MAC also. http://www.wikihow.com/Type-the-Trademark-Symbol

You can also use the Insert-Characters and Symbols command but it is much slower to go down the list and find the ® than it is to just type the sequence.
