Connecting Office365 email to Thunderbird: I cannot subscribe to my inbox Folders as they don't appear in the subscribe list?

I have used Thunderbird for years but recently my email service switched to Office365. I have made a new account in Thunderbird and can send and receive emails. I have ~20 folders that I used to see listed underneath my Inbox but when I go to Subscribe to them they are not in the list. This works fine with my gmail accounts. My tech support says it is a problem with the client and not at the Office365 end.

I can't find any other settings that look like would help with this, so your help would be appreciated. Thanks

It seems to have been the SMTP settings. I have cleared the 'IMAP server directory' field and all is well.
