I seem to have multiple tabs immediately beneath the browser url field and above the page tabs.

Each says Start (0).

I have no idea 1) how they landed 2) what they're for; and 3) how to get rid of them.

Help appreciated!

thanks, cor-el - I found the problem. I had a tabgroups add on - deleted it, and tada.

Guess the problem was more that I hadn't learnt tabgroups functionality for it to work properly on my set - so best to delete it.

thanks again for your help

Bookmark and use this; Mozilla Search Reset {web link} This add-on is very simple: on installation, it backs up and then resets your search preferences and home page to their default values, and then uninstalls itself. This affects the search bar, URL bar searches, and the home page.

Settings Guard for Firefox {web link} Detects and resets changes to settings that are frequently done by add-ons and application installers.

Can you attach a screenshot?

  • Use a compressed image type like PNG or JPG to save the screenshot
  • Make sure that you do not exceed the maximum size of 1 MB

Are you talking about bookmarks on the Bookmarks Toolbar or do you really mean that you tabs with pages opened?

Appreciate send-through of how-to-save-ss - that was handy.

Fred McD - thanks for your time - followed your advice, but it doesn't seem to have resolved things ... however that may be good old user error/ignorance once again.

Cheers

You can check for problems with the sessionstore.js file in the Firefox profile folder that store session data.

Deleting sessionstore.js will cause App Tabs and Tab Groups and open and closed (undo) tabs to get lost and you will have to recreate them (make a note or bookmark them if possible).
