Dear Support,

I have followed the following link to configure exchange address book with my thunder bird client( I am using the latest version), it is working perfectly fine with some computers, but for few it is not working.
the strange thing is i am not getting any error, when i am typing any name in the address book field it is not giving any results, where as same settings are working fine with other users.

any help will be highly appreciated.

possibly your using the wrong domain. it your internal to the network, often windows domains of say mydomain.com are internally addresses as mydomain.local.

You might find you need to use kerebos authentication. Active directory uses different ports for different things. Microsoft list ports 389,636,2368 and 2369 for different server configurations. So it could be any of those see https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dd772723%28v=ws.10%29.aspx

check your firewall (including router if you not logged into the network) allows those ports. Some will most likely be blocked by default. Also check any firewall component in your anti virus program. Thunderbird needs full access. Not Auto.

in the first instance, open the error console on the Tools menu and clear it, then try your search and see what is reported. You clear it first because it is full of junk.

Second try logging https://wiki.mozilla.org/MailNews:Logging. Under windows the batch file is really the easy way. But do remember to set the correct NSPR_LOG_MODULES=ldap:5
