emails are being rejected because inbox is full. this happens even after i delete over half of the previously received messages.

Your inbox on your email-server is probably to big. Do you delete them when you delete on your local inbox? If its a POP connection look if you keep them at the server and if you then delete them there when you delete them at your pc (Tools /account settings) Have you compacted your inbox? (and others as well) Deleted mails are still in the inbox-file just marked as such until file is compacted.
