re: I was trying to find out how to "edit as new". This does not sound like it has anything to do with the question you asked but :) EG: if you have sent an email before and want to reuse it select the 'Sent folder or Drafts or Templates folder - depends upon where the email is located... then right click on an email message in the list and select 'Edit as new message' OR select the email and use ;'Message' > 'Edit as new message'.

the password is the one you use to access the webmail account using a browser.

Test the password to see if it gets you access to your webmail account. If it does then you know the password is good.

However, if the password is good then it may not be good for the server settings you are trying to use.

So check the server settings for typos etc. check you are using the correct port etc.

What server settings are you trying to use? Is this a POP or IMAP mail account ?

User name = email address Password = same as webmail password.

  • Incoming server name: ?
  • Port ?
  • Connections Security ?
  • Authentication method ?
  • Outgoing smtp server name: ?
  • Port ?
  • Connections Security ?
  • Authentication method ?

Thanks very much Toad Hall I have now found the edit as new bit. I think that the message regarding passwords must have been held up in the system some where, but thanks agsain. andyandrew.
