I did nothing,really ... I just installed FF-App and from then on the Youtube-App is active every time I have a lock at recent, running apps - even just after booting the phone from zero, and it wasn't this way before. %-O

Coincidence, maybe? Or something wrong with the integration of FF-App - on recent, running apps-menu the search-icon is altered since FF-App is installed!

Which phone or tablet are you using?

I have tried my Samsung S5, Google Nexus 5 and my HTC One M7 and all of them automatically start running the YouTube app version 10.x released 1 week ago .(which I gather is a minor update to YouTube verions 6).

Unless I am missing something which is always possible :-), there doesn't seem to be a way to disable videos from auto-playing using the desktop YouTube site nor does there seem to be a way to disable auto-starting the YouTube app using the mobile site.

As you mention ist ... yes ther was a small update to yt-app too. %-O

I have the same issue. i have droid android phone v.4.1.2. when i end youtube and firefox task everything is good. when i start firefox it starts youtube. why is that?

I ended up disabling the you tube app....
