When I forward a email through thunderbird, it doesn't show that is has been forwarded on the imap server?

i am currently connected through imap, when i forward an email on my thunderbird client it doesn't show that it has been forwarded on the actual server email, read and unread works, also replying works but forwarding does not

What mail server are you using? I use gmail and it does show the forward symbol. If you are using another service, it might be a characteristic of their software.

I don't think it matters, but what version of TB do you have?

i have version 31.3.0, and I am on the (incoming) imap.postoffice.net server

If postoffice.net has a browser-based mail interface, you should look at that to see if they flag the forwarded mail.
