Can header in email "Write" be all white - how it was before last download?

more options

Before the last download, the header that comes up when you click "Write" was all white - I could see it. The last download turned the space gray unless you are typing on that line. Once you finish typing it goes back to gray. I can't see it very well at all, please turn the header spaces where you type for (To: Reply: Subject:) back to being white and keep them white so I can see them. It was GREAT before this last download changed it.

 Thank you so much,
 Dee Dee Roberts

In addition to my previous response: How to locate Profile folder

make hidden files and fodlers visible:

In Thunderbird Help > Troubleshooting Information click on 'show Folder' button a new window opens showing profile folders - It will look similar to first image below.

Close Thunderbird now - this is important - before you start to do what it says at the link I gave in previous response.

Then create a new folder called chrome - note the spelling. So it Profile folder looks like the second image below.

Open Notepad Copy paste all the contents shown at the link into notepad and then save the file as userChrome.css (note the spelling) in the chrome folder.

Restart thunderbird.

By turning on high contrast, the gray will be white again. Here's how to do it:

On Windows:

   go to Control Panel
   select Appearance and Personalization
   select Ease of Access Center
   set up High Contrast

On Ubuntu Linux:

   select System Settings
   select Universal Access
   turn on High Contrast

Sorry, but I don't know anything about a Mac, but I'm sure they have a similar function.

Sorry, 1st suggestion did not work. Let me try again:

How can I use a theme to change the non-selected fields:
From, Reply-To, Subject, to some background color other than
gray when I write an email?
Thanks so much,
Dee Dee

Thank you very much. This was exactly what I needed. Much appreciated! Dee Dee

This solution worked as far as the background color on those fields. What I still find annoying is that there used to be an icon beside each recipient name that I could click to easily select and delete that recipient. You don't realize how often you use a tool until it's been taken away!
