When I try to open Firefox it says "Firefox is already running..."?!
This started yesterday after I did a reset of Firefox. It ran perfectly after that but when I closed and tried to reopen the program I constantly get a message saying "Firefox is already running but not responding..."
Here are the steps I've already taken to try and fix the problem:
1. Looked for the Firefox process in my Task Manager to terminate it but couldn't locate it 2. Restarted my computer 3. Tried to open an older version from a restore point but get the same "Firefox is already running.." message. 4. Looked for solutions in mozilla support but couldn't find one that worked.
Please HELP!

It turns out that I had accidentally checked the "Read Only" box in the Properties of my AppData folder in my User account. This apparently had somehow prevented Firefox from terminating or restarting... or both, I'm not sure exactly why. After going back and unchecking the Read Only box Firefox started up fine.
Thanks for your suggestion though ideato!

That is very odd. Something had to activate it.
