I just renewed my PC for a Lenovo with Windows 8.1 and wanted to copy the Bookmarks from my old Windows 7 PC. I have followed the procedures I have seen (using a memory stick) for Exporting from the old PC and Importing to the New PC.

This procedure works fine going from a Win7 Pc to Win7Pc but when I try to import on my 8.1 PC and OPEN the imported file, all I get is a full page documented list with blue sub headings of the bookmarks, but not the Bookmarks themselves.

Appreciate if you can you tell me how to resolve this please. ?

Thanks for your reply Philipp,

I thought I had done the procedure correctly before, but I have now followed it TO THE WORD. Where I went wrong was to "double click" the file instead of going to OPEN at the bottom of the box.

Thanks very much for your help.

hello den1s, please don't open the file directly, but import it through the bookmarks library (show all bookmarks > import and backup > import bookmarks from html).
