how can i delete all history, except open windows and tabs?
hi, i can not find any way to delete all my firefox history, except open windows and tabs. i could not find any solution about in the web. i did try almost all settings in privacy settings, nothing works. any ideas how to do that, or maybe suggestions for add ons?

As long as you clear the history manually and not via "Clear history when Firefox closes" then you should keep open tabs and windows.
Does Firefox create a sessionstore.js file in the Firefox profile folder?
You can check browser.sessionstore.* prefs including browser.sessionstore.resume_from_crash on the about:config page and reset browser.sessionstore prefs that are user set (bold) via the right-click context menu to the default value to make sure that Session Restore is enabled and working properly.

You can choose what you want cleared and the time frame.
yes, if i delete the history and i start firefox new all my tabs and windows will not be there anymore.

You can change your startup options to load your previous session (Show my windows and tabs from last time). Alternatively, if your Firefox is loading up to the Firefox home page, the bottom right button should allow you to restore a previous page unless you are running in Private Browsing mode. If you are running in Private Browsing mode and want to continue sessions, I suggest you change your settings to custom or Remember History in:
- Tools (or ) > Options > Privacy
yes, i put the general options (Show my windows and tabs from last time)

1. use custom settings for history 2. remember my browsing and download history (Yes) 3. remember search and form history (yes) 4.accept cookies from sites (yes)
5. clear history when firefox closes (settings are the following once) when i quit firefox it should automatically clear all

problem is still the same. after restarting firefox, all tabs and windows from my previous session are gone. my goal is to keep them and i don't want to login in all my email and social networks, all the time when i restart my computer.

no, thats all grey. i can't click it. so it looks like like that firefox clears all the history and don't remembers any tabs or windows. i have no idea what to do.

As far as I know, there is not a built-in setting for this. In the "Clear history when Firefox closes" dialog, your open windows and tabs are part of your browsing history. I guess you already know that.
How do you feel about turning off "Clear history when Firefox closes" and manually clearing history using History > Clear Recent History before you exit Firefox? It is an extra step, but might be as close as you can get to what you want. I haven't actually tested that myself, though.

my settings in tool-options-privacy are firefox will: REMEMBER HISTORY
my settings in tool-options-general are when firefox starts: SHOW MY WINDOWS AND TABS FROM LAST TIME
before i close firefox or before i shot down windows i go to history-clear recent history
time range to clear: EVERYTHING
DETAILS browsing and download history (yes) cache (yes)
always when i restart firefox again my tabs and windows are still there, i am still logged in, in all my email addresses and social networks.
it would be nice to find an add on what does that automatically or any other way, but i am happy that it works anyhow!
