How do I delete or remove a folder?

I have several folders that I created a few years ago. I no longer need them, and they are taking up space. I can't find instructions for removing them, and would be very grateful for help.

Select the folder and press the delete key on your keyboard. or Right click the folder and select Delete.

I have the same problem, but with identities. Here's what I've done:

1 - highlight the folder with the identity's name 2 - press Del on the keyboard. The folder is not deleted. 3 - right-click the folder. Delete is not an option. The folder is not deleted. 4 - click Delete Folder in the file menu. The folder is not deleted.

Delete all files in all the folders of the identity I want to remove. I'm not allowed to remove trash, sent, and inbox, but I empty them out. Remove all possible information from the server settings for the identities I want to delete. Press Del. Right Click and no Delete. Click Delete in the File menu and find that it is grayed out, so it doesn't work.

Is there no way to get rid of identities you don't want anymore?
