On startup of Thunderbird pop up window says "could not initialize security component"

Hi, Starting up Thunderbird the following window suddenly pops up. No problem during the morning session. Alert "Could not initialize the application security component. The most likely cause is problems with in your application's profile directory. Please check that this directory has no read/writerestrictions. ETC" I checked in the T / B profile folder. "Certificate Mgr." window is empty (no listings). So is the "Device Mgr." window. I could not find the mentioned 'read/write' restriction.
