I am sorry to hear about this. Several other people have reported this issue, I replied with a workaround suggested by one of them in this thread.

I will try the work around but it really makes me mad. All the time I wasted yesterday.

I have new information about this.

It looks like it's this bug. If you have an account on Bugzilla, it would help to vote for that issue.

It seems lists with a description that includes several words have this problem. The bug report suggests replacing the blanks " " between the words in such lists' descriptions with an underscore "_".

If you don't want to change your descriptions, the other workaround provided still works.

Since upgrading to 31.1.0, address lists to not work! AND, filters do not work correctly either!

Went back to 31.0 - doesn't work either!

Went back to 30.0b1 - Still doesn't work!

The workaround of copying the addresses from the address Book and pasting them in does work but I found it more convenient to find an old message that was sent to the group, Reply All, and paste in the new message.

Windows 8.1, DELL 660s.

This has been reported as Bug #1060901. If you have an account on Bugzilla, please consider voting for that issue.

Several other people have sent in the same support request as you, noting this happened after they upgraded to version 31.1. It's the first time I hear about other previous versions having this problem.

I failed to properly test with older versions.

I have since determined it does work fine with 31.0.

I will use the work around until Mozilla gets it fixed.
