The message pane is not displaying the selected message. I have obviously "switched it off" but how can I set it back to normal?

Many thanks for any assistance.

If you can't see your Message Pane, go to the menu and check this option:

View|Layout|Folder Pane

If you have a Message Pane and it's empty, check the QuickFilter options are all off, and check

View|Folders|All

To follow these directions as given, you need to have the classical Menus displayed. Whilst there is an alternative, the Application Menu button, I am using Linux and I can't be sure of the options displayed in Windows and OS X.

Many thanks for your suggestions. Have done as you suggested but I still can not see the messages in the message pane when I select a message.

I am using Windows 7 and the latest Thunderbird version.

Can you see the pane?

I can see the pane. By pressing F8 I can make it disappear and re-appear! I just can not see any messages in it when I select a message - I therefore have to open the message to see its content.

It's just white and empty? Hmmmm....

Correct - just white and empty. Should I delete Thunderbird and re-install? Perhaps then it will come back as usual.
