I first encountered this when I went into my bookmarks to log into my hotmail (outlook) I then had the same when trying the Firefox help menu. Even when I tried to enter hotmail or Firefox by way of Google I was still getting this error message. (error code:sec_error_ocsp_old_response)

Chosen solution

Check the date and time and time zone in the clock on your computer: (double) click the clock icon on the Windows Taskbar.

Clear the cache and cookies only from websites that cause problems.

"Clear the Cache":

  • Firefox/Tools > Options > Advanced > Network > Cached Web Content: "Clear Now"

"Remove Cookies" from sites causing problems:

  • Firefox/Tools > Options > Privacy > "Use custom settings for history" > Cookies: "Show Cookies"
