Provider won't recognize Mozilla Thunderbird
Have been using MT for 2 years and my provider went down, now I can't send or receive and I get a timed out box in the lower right corner. Stepped up the timed out from 100 to 1000, still times out. Called my provider (Charter.net) and re-opened My Charter email. Charter works fine but I don't like it as well as Mozilla Thunderbird. and I don't have my contacts in Charter. I have removed MT twice and re installed it twice. Charter says they can't help although in my mind they are to blame. Need thoughts or suggestions. Thanks Clayton

Charter works fine ...
From your description it isn't quite clear what your problem is.
I have removed MT twice and re installed it twice.
What were you trying to achieve with this?
Charter says they can't help
Help with what? Please state in more detail what your problem is. Troubleshooting Information would probably be useful as well.

My desire is to have MT as my default email. At present I can't send an email or receive an email with MT. Although at present I can send and receive emails in the Charter email service. As MT is a third party service of Charter it has the inbox page up but I still can't send or receive emails. The re-installs of MT were to confirm that I have the correct application.
Just to confirm, did you set-up your Charter account in Thunderbird?
I have not been prompted to do so and have no knowledge of that action. If you have info of the procedure to achieve this I would try to preform it. Thanks
Trying but it won't accept my password or username. Have help coming tomorrow. Thanks but I will leave this open until tomorrow night.
