I have the 'complete' office suite on my computer but 'complete' mail (which is actually thunderbird too) has really been playing up. I have now downloaded the latest thunderbird program but I want to import all the emails and addresses from the old program which are presumably somewhere in my files. Please help. Using the import button in 'tools' does not give me the option. I am using Windows 8.1.

Hi. Sorry but I did not understand what to do from your reply but I have since sorted it out myself by just exporting the required files from Complete mail onto a stick and then importing them into Thunderbird. The reason I could not do this before was because I was not giving the files a unique name. I now have empty duplicates of some folders but I can live with that as they do not seem to want to delete.

If it truly is a Thunderbird copy, try looking in the appdata\roaming folder. Look for a folder containing abook.mab

Note that appdata is a hidden folder and windows needs to be instructed to make them visible.

Hi. Thank you. I have found the files but what do I do now? The import on thunderbird does not give me the option to put the file location which is C:\Users\Ainslie\AppData\Roaming\Complete MAIL 2014\Profiles\stgmo4k7.default

Move or copy your old profile, or instruct Thunderbird to use the old profile, or import selected mailboxes into your current profile form the old one, using https://nic-nac-project.org/~kaosmos/mboximport-en.html
