Hmmm, and is your windows theme set to classic or something else? Blue is a feature of the classic windows theme.

Star being yellow. see http://forums.mozillazine.org/viewtopic.php?f=28&t=2031971

I think I may have been a bit vague - Windows XP is operating Classic mode. All selected windows show the blue shaded bar at the top _except_ for T-Bird, which goes a very light grey - doesn't affect operation but it's a mite annoying and easy to think the window isn't selected. Strangely on first opening, the bar flashes blue for about 1/10th second.......

Thnaks for the star colouring - will try it once the roof stops leaking
