No Youtube videos will play, just go straight to the end
Hello,
Ever since early this morning, Youtube videos in FireFox won't play, they just end instantly. I tried in another browser, and it worked fine. I'm assuming it's a problem with HTML 5.
Chosen solution
Run the Flash uninstaller - http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/uninstall-flash-player-windows.html
Then reinstall that latest version of Flash.

I don't know how two of the same plugin got installed. This was never an issue previously. How do I go about fixing this? I'm not seeing an option to remove plugins.

the-edgemeister: I'm still a bit confused. When I use Opera or Chrome, I have no issues at all. Wouldn't this just be an issue with the FireFox plugins?
Firefox uses a different version of Flash than either Chrome or Opera use, and for that matter, different than what IE uses. Can't make a direct comparison
Use the Flash uninstaller and then install the latest version, so that you only have one version of Flash installed for Firefox.
That fixed it. Thank you.
I take it back, things are much worse now. I have very crappy internet, so always watch my videos in 240p. No videos have that option anymore. While my internet is bad, I don't think it's causing this new problem. The video lags terribly to the point of the audio freaking out.
Try Opera, 240p is there, and everything is fine except for slow loading (which wasn't an issue before). What the hell has happened to FireFox recently? This was never an issue for me before.
Just to update: The video was playing for a short while, now it's back to instantly done.
Does Firefox use the YouTube Flash player or the HTML5 media player?
The Flash player should show the Flash player context menu if you right-click in the player area.
HTML 5 player.
You may be missing the correct codec or media support to play these media files.
A possible workaround/test could be to try the Flash player instead and disable the HTML5 media player in the YouTube settings.
Huh, now it is magically working again. Guess it was something with Youtube? Either way, thanks.
I'm having the same problem. Many, but not all, Youtube videow hang -- spinning circle for about 30 minutes, then "a problem has occurred, try again in 30 minutes."

Thought it was firefox, so set defaults, installed latest flash, etc.
