I was showing my 12 year old cousin two programs I was going to uninstall and went to the bathroom, when I got back he did it thinking he was doing something good, well, he uninstalled the wrong ones, Firefox and now I think I know why I can't reinstall Firefox he uninstalled also Firefox maintance Service. I did everything looking in my computer trying to understand why system couldn't find the 7-zip and downloaded five 7-zips on the internet and believe it or not even a 7-zip Manager! None helped me so, after *many* hours with nothing that helped. You people here are more imformed in this than I am. In your opition, by the Maintance Service being uninstalled would that had done this? I've uninstalled Firefox a few times thinking that I was being hacked and I've reinstalled Foxfire with no problems until this Firefox Maintance Service being uninstalled and didn't noticed this until today. If you think that this is the reason, just *please* show and/or tell me where and/or how to reinstall the Maintance Service. If not what could be doing this? I *need* to get Firefox back because all of my info is on there that I need to use.... www.elvispresleyjr.us

Well, ladies and gentlemen your not going to believe this! Since, some kind people offered ideas in order to help me sadly didn't work, I had a seemly crazy idea! I went and downloaded AVG PC TUNEUP from their site and once done so, I did *all* that was asked in program, had to restart from program cleaning and testing hard drives. It downloaded my Magicjack the they had placed a shortcut because of not opening correctly, now opened *perfectly* So, I went directly to the Firefox download site gingerbread kindly sent me and *perfectly* downloaded Firefox! I explained *all* of this because this just may help *anybody* on a *number* of issues including our *Firefox* for sure as it did for me! Most likely there just maybe better programs out there but, at least this helped me. I thank you very much for *all* that tried to help me and to one that I was rude to, God bless you all!

Download then run the full installer from the following page.

In case of problems, try launching the installer while in Windows Safe Mode.

The Mozilla Maintenance Service allows you to update Firefox without dealing with Windows User Access Control. It can be disabled in the Firefox preferences or uninstalled from the Windows Control Panel, and it won't prevent you from installing Firefox.

Also, I don't have Windows 7 have Windows XP Pro

In the future,

  • When ever you leave the computer, Lock The Keyboard ! !

Any programs that are running will not be interfeared with. The only thing this does is prevent anyone without the password from poking around.

  • Or start a game that your cousin likes. ;->
  • If you ever have a problem with any program and you can't

fix it, just go to the web site of the owner and get a full installer. Normally, installers will check for and replace old programs.
