How do I search bookmarks?

How do I search a specific bookmark? No, not "sort" bookmarks to find it (I don't know in which of the many folders it is located). I need some kind of search field, or similar, where I type words in the name of the bookmark. This existed in FF28 but I can't find it in 29.

Thank you!

Wind 8.1, FF29

Chosen solution

  • You can search for bookmarks from the address bar by prefixing your query with an asterisk, e.g. * mozilla support
  • You can search for bookmarks from the search bar in the Bookmarks Sidebar (Ctrl+B; Mac: Command+B).
  • You can search for bookmarks from the search bar in the Library (Ctrl+Shift+B; Linux: Ctrl+Shift+O; Mac: Command+Shift+B).

However, none of the above search methods will show you in which folder a bookmark resides. You can remedy that with the following add-ons.
