What good is that super fast internet connection when your browser is running at dial-up speed? Sometimes, especially on older computers, just closing unnecessary tabs and windows will help speed things up. Other times, you'll need to do a little troubleshooting to get to the cause of the problem. This article will help point you in the right direction to track down and fix those problems. Of course, if you need extra help with any of this, we have a community of volunteers standing by.

Web pages take too long to load
There are two main things to do in this situation. Update and run anti-virus and malware scanner tools on your computer and try Troubleshoot extensions, themes and hardware acceleration issues to solve common Firefox problems.

Firefox takes a long time to start up
This can take some work to track down. Here are the three places to look.
- Update and run anti-virus and malware scanner tools on your computer.
- Start Firefox in it's troubleshooting Use Troubleshoot Mode in Firefox. If the problem goes away, you'll need to follow the instructions in Troubleshoot extensions, themes and hardware acceleration issues to solve common Firefox problems to fix it.
- Create a new profile to restore Firefox to the way it was when you first installed it. If this fixes your start up problem, you'll probably want to use the instructions in Restore bookmarks, passwords, and data from an old Firefox profile to get back things like your bookmarks and saved passwords.
