Import bookmarks and other data from Google Chrome

Firefox lets you easily import bookmarks and other data from Google Chrome. This article gives you step-by-step instructions for getting it done.

  1. Click the menu button Fx89menuButton to open the menu panel. Click Bookmarks and then click the Manage bookmarks bar at the bottom.
  2. From the toolbar in the Library window, click f60cc26c38fc04cce87eb6ea6ec8c400-1259975468-619-1.pngImport and Backup and choose Import Data from Another Browser...

    Note: If you are in Private Browsing mode, Import Data from Another Browser... will be disabled (greyed out). In that case, turn off Private Browsing and try again.
  3. In the Import Wizard window that appears, select Chrome, then click NextContinue.

  4. Firefox will list the types of settings and information it can import. Select the items you want to import, then click NextContinue.

    • Cookies: Small bits of information stored on your computer by some websites that are used to keep you logged in, store your options, or do other things.
    • Browsing History: Information on the sites you have visited.
    • Bookmarks: Web pages you have saved in your Chrome bookmarks.
  5. Click FinishDone. The items you selected should now be imported.
    • Because Chrome defaults to saving bookmarks in its bookmarks toolbar, you should be able to find your imported bookmarks in a folder named From Google Chrome in the Firefox Bookmarks Toolbar. For more information on using bookmarks in Firefox, see Bookmarks in Firefox
