Update to the latest version of Firefox for Android to enjoy the new, convenient Quit from the menu option.

On Android 4 and above, Firefox doesn't have a Quit option in the menu. We'll show you how to add this with an add-on.

Tip: You can close Firefox or any other app from the app switch screen. Tap the app switching button app switch button 25px - Android Jelly Bean and then swipe an app off to the left or right to quit it. If you do not see the above button, long press the home button to bring up app switch screen.
  1. Visit the QuitNow installation page on addons.mozilla.org.
  2. Tap the Add to Firefox button.

  3. In the new displayed menu, tap Install to install the QuitNow add-on.

Your Firefox menu will now have a Quit menu item that allows you to exit Firefox for Android.

The Quit option on Firefox for Android lets you close all of your open tabs at once. This option will also automatically clear your browsing history if you've activated this setting.

  1. Tap the menu button (either at the bottom right on some devices or in the upper right of the browser) and then tap Quit.

If you don't see the Quit option, you might need to scroll further down the menu first.
