Firefox Hello will be available to all Firefox Beta users in a few weeks. Even if you don't see the Hello button on your browser, you can still receive calls from Hello users.

Firefox Hello's Guest Mode lets you make free video and video calls directly from the browser - no account needed! All you need are a microphone, webcam (optional), and Firefox Beta to call friends who are on WebRTC-supported browsers like Firefox, Chrome, or Opera.

Contact lists: While you don't need an account to use Firefox Hello, a Firefox Account will let you add, manage and call your contacts directly with just a click. See Create and manage your contacts list on Firefox Hello for more information.

If the Firefox Hello hello button button is not on your toolbar or menu, see Where is the Firefox Hello button? Once you've moved it to your favorite spot, you're ready to connect with friends.

Invite someone to talk

  1. Click on the Hello button hello button.
  2. Click the Email button to send the link to a friend using your default email application, or click Copy and paste the link into another messaging application.
  3. When your friend clicks on the link to start a call, a notification will pop up on your browser:
    call notification 35
  4. Click the answer 35 button to accept the conversation. Choose the video camera option if you'd like to do a video conversation, or the microphone option for a voice only call.
  5. Use the privacy controls webrtc privacy to mute your microphone or turn off your camera as needed.
  6. To end the call, click call end.
