Cookies are stored on your computer by websites you visit and contain information such as site preferences or login status. This article describes how to delete cookies in Firefox.

Delete cookies for a single site

To delete cookies for one website:

  1. Click the menu button New Fx Menu Fx57Menu and choose Options.Preferences.
  2. Select the Privacy & Security panel and go to the History section.

  3. In the drop-down menu next to Firefox will, choose Use custom settings for history.

  4. Click Show Cookies.... The Cookies window will appear.

  5. In the Search: field, type the name of the site whose cookies you want to remove. The cookies that match your search will be displayed.
  6. Select the cookie(s) in the list to remove and click Remove Selected.

    Tip: Select the first cookie and press Shift + End to select all the cookies in the list.
  7. Click Close to closeClose the Cookies window. Close the about:preferences page.

  2. Select the Privacy & Security panel and go to the Cookies and Site Data section.

  3. Click the Manage Data… button. The Manage Cookies and Site Data dialog will appear.
  4. In Search websites: field, type the name of the site whose cookies you want to remove. Items that match your search will be displayed.

    • To remove all cookies and storage data for the website, click Remove All Shown.
    • To remove selected items, select an entry and click Remove Selected.
  5. Click Save Changes.
  6. In the Removing Cookies and Site Data confirmation dialog that opens, click Remove.
  7. Close the about:preferences page.

Note: You can remove individual cookies for a specific website from the Firefox Page Info window for the website, using the View Cookies button in the Security tab.

Delete all cookies

To delete all cookies stored on your computer, either open the Cookies window as explained above and use the Remove All Cookies button, or else do the following:

  1. Click the menu button Fx57Menu , then Library, followed by History.
  2. Click Clear Recent History....
  3. Set Time range to clear to Everything.
  4. Click on the arrow next to Details to expand the list of history items.
  5. Select Cookies and make sure that other items you want to keep are not selected.
  6. Click Clear Now to clear the cookies and close the Clear Recent History window.

  4. Select Cookies and make sure that other items you want to keep are not selected.

  5. Click Clear Now to clear the cookies and close the Clear Recent History window.
